The Pinnacles

The Pinacles are a fascinating valley of rock formations not far north of Perth. I had seen many photographs of the Pinacles in the past however I must admit they were far more impressive in the flesh than I had ever imagined. I think it is the sheer scale of the Pinacle desert that makes the landscape so alien. Just an endless barron desert with spire after spire dramatically bursting from the surface.

The ever reliable Roxy comin’ through!

The Pinacles are well worth visiting and would recommend it for anyone in the Perth region.

We stopped in at Geraldton on our way south to the Pinacles to find a charming country town that hosted a stunning tribute to our maritime history. Below is a picture of the HMAS Sydney II memorial which commemorates the 650 men who were lost at sea on board the vessel, the biggest single loss in our nations naval history.
